Freeing The Body With Pole
Freeing The Body With Pole is a 6-hour physically demanding durational performance where the performer reels off all the movements she can remember with the pole. The solo performer, who is known for rejecting traditional and stylistic aesthetic, continues to free her body from an acquired movement language that combines stylistic movement forms including contemporary dance, pole dance, jazz dance and ballet. The spectator is invited to stay for part or the entire duration of the work to witness the performer move until she cannot move no more. The work is inspired by Abramovic’s “Freeing the Memory” (1976), which draws
from Eastern Philosophies that aid a higher level of consciousness.Age 16+
